A deal between AT&T (NYSE:T) and Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD) was announced today, enabling AT&T (NYSE:T) to keep providing internet and mobile subscribers with access to HBO Max’s library of original movies and TV shows.
Jenifer Robertson, the EVP & General Manager – Mass Markets, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T), said HBO Max is a significant product that is popular with their customers; they like that they’re viewed as the place to come to get it. She further said that this adjusted agreement represents an essential step in positioning AT&T (NYSE:T) and Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD) for continued success.
Scott Miller, Executive Vice President, Distribution, Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD), said that AT&T (NYSE:T) continues to be an essential partner. Furthermore, they’re thrilled that HBO Max will continue to be part of AT&T’s (NYSE:T) internet and mobility plans.
He further explained that their goal has always been to deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience to as many subscribers as possible. The return of HBO Max to AT&T (NYSE:T) plans ensures that even more people will have access to HBO Max’s world-class and award-winning content.
To give its consumers options and the best value, AT&T (NYSE:T) has consistently innovated with the features it offers. With this deal, AT&T (NYSE:T) will be able to continue to benefit from HBO Max’s low churn rates and maintain its freedom to choose how to provide the service to users. The financial guidance information provided by AT&T (NYSE:T) in its earnings report from last month is unaffected by this arrangement.
With the broadest selection of shows, films, and specials for viewers of all ages from the venerable names of HBO, Warner Bros. (NASDAQ:WBD), and DC, as well as Max Originals, blockbuster movies, and adored children’s and family programs, HBO Max delivers best in class entertainment. The platform became live in the US in May 2020, and in June 2021, it unveiled a cheaper, advertising-supported tier.
The HBO Max global rollout began last summer with markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Nordics, Iberia, the Netherlands, and Central and Eastern Europe then launched the service in Europe. Currently, HBO Max is available in 61 countries.
