Despite releasing a new and cheaper GPU that uses AI, Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) fell by slightly more than 1% on Wednesday.

In a statement, Nvidia stock announced that the new GeForce RTX 4070 utilizes the Ada Lovelace architecture and can make DLSS-3 neural rendering and real-time ray-tracing technologies accessible to “millions.”

“Making sure games are ‘RTX ON’ with both ray tracing and DLSS has become a top priority for most PC gamers,” said Matt Wuebbling, vice president of marketing for Nvidia, in the announcement. DLSS stands for dynamic lighting and shading support.

Using the DLSS technology, the newly released RTX 4070 processors provide PC gamers the ability to render graphics on higher-resolution displays more quickly, making the visuals appear better.

The new GeForce RTX 4070 has a base price of $599. It is equivalent to the performance of the GeForce RTX 3080 when it comes to the rendering of video games. However, it consumes just half as much power and has an extra 2 gigabytes of memory.

Nvidia, situated in San Jose, California, has a history of pricing its graphics processing units (GPUs) closer to the upper end of the market, with some models costing as much as $1,600.

There have been rumblings from gamers and industry experts that the graphics processing units (GPUs) manufactured by Nvidia are lacking in memory, particularly in comparison to those manufactured by AMD.

Nvidia said that the GeForce RTX 4070 will be available for purchase on the company’s website and at several retail locations beginning tomorrow.

At the beginning of this month, Bank of America reaffirmed its buy recommendation on the graphics processing unit (GPU) behemoth, citing “strong share gains” in the industry.
