National CineMedia, LLC (NASDAQ:NCMI), the biggest cinema advertising network in the country, and iSpot, a real-time TV measurement firm, today announced a new agreement to improve NCM’s analytics and measurement capabilities. NCM can now report on the additional reach their advertising offers to brand and studio customers outside of linear television thanks to iSpot’s currency grade ad catalog and verification of ad plays for all advertisements against 40 million Smart TVs in the U.S.
Because of iSpot’s connection with Neustar identification resolution, National CineMedia will also provide client campaigns with more thorough reach, frequency, attribution, and tune-in reporting.
NCM’s Manu Singh stated that the company’s integration with iSpot “further delivers on our aim to enable our partners the opportunity to plan and buy premium inventory in a unified manner across all displays, including the coveted large screen.”
The combination of iSpot and National CineMedia data will also allow advertisers to easily identify and target their prospects among moviegoers, who are estimated to number 600 million. This makes iSpot the only cinema advertising network in the U.S. to offer this degree of data integration for campaigns.
Advertisers face a challenge in tracking and measuring audience reach and engagement, particularly across CTV and TV, as the number of cord-cutters rises. With the help of the iSpot relationship, NCM is better able to show how its media, which is available exclusively in movie theaters, reaches the target population of its advertisers as well as how audience behavior is impacted by both types of campaigns (Movie Theater and CTV and possibly digital and DooH). The reach of buys across CTV, broadcast, and cable is increased by cinema advertising, one of the only forms of media that can connect and engage a youthful, diverse audience at scale.
