Mark Orsmond has been designated the new chief financial officer of ElectraMeccanica Vehicles (NASDAQ:SOLO), the firm announced on Tuesday. His appointment is effective immediately.
Orsmond is regarded as accomplished finance and corporate development leader who has served as CFO for businesses focused on engineering and technology. Orsmond most recently worked for Taiga Motors as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
The maker of electric vehicles has also announced the hiring of Tony Dent, a seasoned attorney, as general counsel of the business, and Bal Bhullar to the newly formed position of chief compliance officer. Ms. Bhullar will be crucial to the organization’s financial and legal operations as it moves toward a commercial scale, facilitating the anticipated shift to complete onshore production capabilities at the end of 2022. Dent most recently worked for Harley-Davidson, where he steadily established a broad portfolio of legal roles across the entire organization, both inside and outside the US. He now joins Electra Meccanica.
At the start of Wednesday’s trading day, SOLO shares are up 2%.
