Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares are in green after the news hit the market that the company is releasing a new iPhone 14 on September 7.
According to sources, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) plans to announce the iPhone 14 range on September 7. The iPhone generates more than half of Apple’s revenues.
The new iPhones will start a hectic fall product season, including new Macs, iPads, and Apple Watches.
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is revamping its flagship product amid industry uncertainty. As customers deal with inflation and a weak economy, smartphone sales have fallen. The iPhone sold well last quarter, and Apple has told suppliers it doesn’t expect demand to diminish.
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) usually introduces new Apple Watches alongside the iPhone. Apple typically launches the new iPhone a week and a half after it’s introduced, and this year should be no different. Some retail personnel has been urged to prepare for a September 16 product launch.
The firm will stream the ceremony online, as it did at the onset of the pandemic. Bloomberg News reports that Apple staff have been recording presentation snippets for weeks.
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) wouldn’t comment on the event’s timing. Apple typically announces new iPhones in the first half of September, but things could change.
The company conducted its final event in June to launch iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, and macOS Ventura and welcomed the press and developers to watch a video of the session. This was part of Apple’s slow shift back to normal operations, which included returning to the office.
The company told its corporate staff on Monday that they must work in-person three days a week starting September 5, two days before the product announcement.
Apple iPhone 14 Specifications
The iPhone 14 will look similar to the iPhone 13, but Apple will drop the 5.4-inch “small” model and add a 6.7-inch variant. This will be Apple’s first non-Pro iPhone with a 4-inch display.
The iPhone 14 Pro series will be updated. Apple will replace the notch with a pill-shaped hole for Face ID and a hole-punch-sized camera area. This adds screen space. iPhone 14 Pro gets a speedier processor. Apple will use the iPhone 13’s A15 chip in iPhone 14 models.
The iPhone 14 Pro camera will appear more prominent to users. Pro models get a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera and 12-megapixel ultrawide and telephoto sensors. Apple plans video recording and battery life improvements.
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) will include a body-temperature sensor in the Series 8 Apple Watches. A new pro model will target sportier consumers than the Series 7 watch. It will include a larger display, titanium case, fitness tracking functions, and better battery life. The business also plans a quicker Apple Watch SE.
iOS 16 and watchOS 9 will be released in September. macOS Ventura will launch in October alongside iPadOS. The latter software was delayed a month owing to Stage Manager difficulties.
Bloomberg News reports Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is working on a low-end iPad with an A14 CPU and USB-C connector and new iPad Pro versions with M2 chips for later this year. Apple plans to release new Macs with M2-based CPUs before the end of the year.
