PepsiCo to Purchase 20% Share in Aqua Carpatica

PepsiCo (NASDAQ:PEP) and premium Romanian spring water AQUA Carpatica have signed a strategic partnership in which PepsiCo will purchase a 20% ownership investment.

According to the agreement, PepsiCo (PEP) will be granted permission to sell the spring water in Poland and Romania, with the potential to grow into additional markets, such as the US.

Silviu Popovici, CEO of PepsiCo Europe, said that AQUA Carpatica is a “wonderful fit” for PepsiCo’s existing premium beverage range. He lauded the beverage for having excellent taste and premium positioning.

Popovici added that PepsiCo officials are certain that the high brand equity of AQUA Carpatica will resonate with its clients and consumers worldwide.
