MSOS: Market Entry of a New Leveraged Cannabis ETF Doubles Gains

AdvisorShares Pure US Cannabis ETF Ticker: MSOS

Before fees and expenses, MSOX aims for daily investment results that are two times (2x) the daily total return of the AdvisorShares Pure US Cannabis ETF (Ticker: MSOS). MSOX doesn’t try to reach its declared investment goal over anything longer than a single day. MSOX is intended for knowledgeable investors seeking more exposure to the American cannabis industry.

The underlying MSOS is a cannabis-exposed actively managed U.S.-listed ETF that only applies to U.S. businesses, including multi-state operators.

Because MSOX delivers two times as much cannabis exposure in a single deal, giving holders of MSOX overweight cannabis holdings for less money, it gives the financial community greater purchasing power.

A total operational expenditure ratio of 0.95% will also be linked to MSOX, which is greater than the 0.73% expense ratio that is associated with MSOS.

With its September 2020 launch, MSOS made history by being the first publicly traded cannabis fund in the world to give exposure entirely to American cannabis companies, including multi-state operators. MSOs are American businesses that are directly involved in the legal cultivation and distribution of marijuana in states where it has been legalized.

“We believe MSOX is a unique investing tool that is specifically built for experienced investors and professional traders and that has the ability to generate enhanced returns in all market circumstances,” said Dan Ahrens, portfolio manager of both MSOX and MSOS.

The AdvisorShares Pure Cannabis ETF (Ticker:YOLO), a global cannabis strategy managed by Mr. Ahrens, as well as the AdvisorShares Poseidon Dynamic Cannabis ETF (Ticker:PSDN), a global cannabis strategy sub-advised by Poseidon Investment Management, are additional products offered by AdvisorShares in addition to MSOS and MSOX.

MSOS is up 2.7% as of Wednesday, but when looking at the entire year, MSOS is down 54.8%.

Additional cannabis-related ETFs include (MJ), (YOLO), (POTX), (CNBS), (THCX), and (TOKE).

A well-known supplier of actively managed ETFs is AdvisorShares.
